FIVE WAYS TO WELLBEING

There are five steps we can all take to protect and look after our mental wellbeing.

They are called the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

They were developed by the New Economics Foundation.

The Five Ways to Wellbeing are:

  1. Connect

  2. Be Active

  3. Take Notice

  4. Keep Learning

  5. Give

Click on the images below to find melo, NHS, Dewis, or other resources for each way to wellbeing.

#1 CONNECT

This could be with family, friends, neighbours or people at work.

These people can be the cornerstones of your life, so invest time in building connections with them.

#2 BE ACTIVE

Swapping inactive pursuits with active ones will make you feel good and improve your health.

Find something you enjoy and which suits your level of mobility and fitness.

#3 TAKE NOTICE

Take notice of your surroundings.

Be aware of the world around you and what you are feeling and reflect upon your experiences to help you understand what matters to you.

#4 KEEP LEARNING

It could be trying something new, or rediscovering an old interest.

Learning new things can be fun and will make you feel more confident.

#5 GIVE

Do something nice for a friend, or a stranger.

Volunteer your time, join a community group. Seeing yourself linked to the wider community can be very rewarding.
